Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) FAQ

If I am already enrolled in the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, will my discount amount change?

Yes, as of March 1, 2022 already enrolled Emergency Broadband Benefit Program participants will incur a reduction in their benefit amount. The EBB discount was up to $50 per month, where as the ACP maximum benefit amount is $30 per month. Customers who are currently enrolled in the EBB discount program through Bloomingdale Communications will be notified of the benefit amount change prior to March 1, 2022.

When will my discount start?

After you’ve received formal approval from USAC, it is imperative that you contact Bloomingdale Communications.  Within 72 hours of contacting Bloomingdale Communications with your formal approval, a member of our staff will contact you to complete the enrollment process and apply the discount.  Discounts cannot be retroactive to the date you received the formal approval from USAC; therefore, it is very important to contact Bloomingdale Communications as soon as you receive the formal approval.

Can the ACP discount be used on both my home wired internet service and my Assurance Wireless Lifeline Phone Service?

No, one ACP discount per household. The ACP discount can be transferred to another participating provider at any time. If you already receive the ACP discount on your Assurance Wireless Lifeline Cellular phone, then the discount cannot be applied to your home wired internet service through Bloomingdale Communications.

How much is my discount?

The ACP discount is $30.00 (thirty dollars) per month for qualifying broadband service and equipment rental fees. Only one discount per household will be permitted.

When will my discount end?

Should you become ineligible for the discount based on your household qualifications, then your discount will be removed and you will be responsible for the monthly recurring charges for your Bloomingdale Communications service(s).

How will I know when the discount ends?

USAC will notify Bloomingdale Communications of enrollment changes and/or transfers; At that time the discount will be removed from your Bloomingdale Communications service(s).

Do I have to keep service after the discount ends?

You are not obligated to retain internet service once the discount ends, however, failure to notify Bloomingdale Communications of your request to discontinue service if/when your enrollment status changes, does make you subject to Bloomingdale Communications undiscounted rates and general terms & conditions of service.

Can I upgrade/downgrade my internet service/speed?

Yes, all fiber internet speed tiers qualify for the ACP discount up to $30 per month for qualifying households. Satellite internet service does not qualify for the ACP discount.

What if I disconnect my Bloomingdale Communications service?

Bloomingdale Communications will notify USAC of the termination of service and will unenroll you from the ACP as a Bloomingdale Communications subscriber, at which time you may enroll for the ACP discount through another participating provider.

What if I switch to another provider?

Bloomingdale Communications will notify USAC of your termination of service and will unenroll you from the ACP discount as a Bloomingdale Communications subscriber, at which time you may enroll for the ACP discount through another participating provider.

Will I lose my discount if my service is suspended for non-payment?

No, your discount will resume once you’ve met the Bloomingdale Communications payment terms of service.  If your account is disconnected for non-pay, Bloomingdale Communications will notify USAC of your termination of service and will unenroll you from the ACP discount as a Bloomingdale Communications subscriber, at which time you may enroll for the ACP discount through another participating provider.

Can I get the discount if I already participate in the internet Lifeline discount program?
